I decided for this stage I would make a scene playing with the idea of monster under the bed.
To begin creating this scene I first made the bed out of wood and carved the backboard.
I then cut the walls out of wood and painted them pink to match the fabric I was going to cut later for the bed sheets. After that I cut carpet out to use on the floor to make the scene look more like a bedroom.
After creating the bed, I decided to break a mirror to the size I wanted. The mirror will be used so that way when I make the monster under the bed, the viewer will be able to see the monsters eyes by looking at the mirror.
After completing that, I made the monster and child out of clay so that while I waited for the clay to dry I could work on other things.
The room seemed empty so I decided to make/paint little mini versions children's books. The books I painted were:
- Green Eggs and Ham
- The Giving Tree
- The Very Hungry Caterpillar
- Corduroy
- Ferdinand
After completing everything separately, I put all of the elements together to complete the project.
