To represent marriage, I decided to use the saying forever. My initial plan was to fins a piece of would and put shells all around the word forever. I wanted to put this on a piece of old drift wood.
When I found a old piece of wood I had to change my initial idea since the piece was long and skinny. I decided to longer the saying to forever and always, carve the words, and put shells only around the outside. To begin I took paper and made it the exact size of the wood to figure out how I wanted to write my letters.
I then freehanded the lettering on the wood while referencing the paper. By doing it on the paper first, it made it easier to draw it on the wood since I knew exactly how I wanted everything.
After that I carved each one of the letters out.
After that I lined the outside of the with seashells and hot glued them on.
