To start this project I made two slab mugs. To make a slab mug, I cut out an X shape in a slab of clay. I folded the edges up and slipped and scored the edges to keep them together. I then smoothed the edges out to make the mugs circular. I then made the handles and slipped and scored them on.
For this mug, I made a tiny chameleon and cut it half and placed a half on each side of the cup. After I attached each chameleon, I carved swirls all the way around the mug.
For this mug, I used the needle tool to make the dandelions all the way around. I then made a thumb nugget to help the grip. I made it shaped like a bird to make it cuter. After the clay dried, I glazed the mug with northern lights and the bird a light blue.
For this mug, I glazed the outside of the mug with green crackle and the inside a light blue glaze. Once the mug is fired, I took ink and got it in the swirls to make them stand out.
